Candyland update: Into the punch bowl

I really wanted to explore what going under the ocean of Candyland might look like. I imagined the sea would be punch, the rock formations rock candy, and the sea life gummy.

These paintings are done in watercolor with white gouache. The poses ranged from 2-20 minutes.

These are the preliminary sketches I did prior to the few paintings I deiced to take to finishes (seen in previous post). After looking at theses again I think I might finish a couple more.

Oh Gloppy!

In my mind Gloppy (molasses man) is a slow witted kind hearted kleptomaniac.

The Candy Pits

This is the most treacherous part of Candyland, it is where all yucky candy goes. Grant has fallen in to a pit of yellow Starbursts and Hanna must save him with a rope of Black Licorice.
